BetterWork Community Terms and Conditions

Last updated October 2026

About these terms

These terms and conditions govern your use of the BetterWork Community, platform and the services associated with it, including participation in the WhatsApp Community and receipt of communications from HSM Advisory. By submitting your details through this website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.

BetterWork is operated by HSM Advisory Ltd. If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us at info@hsm-advisory.com.

What information we collect and why

When you register or participate in BetterWork Community activities, we may collect the following personal information:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Your responses to research questions

We collect this information only for the purposes described below, and we will not use it for any other purpose without your explicit consent.

How we use your information

  1. Research question responses

When you respond to research questions on our platform, we use your answers to help inform the topics, themes, and content covered in the BetterWork Community. Your responses contribute to shaping future events, discussions, and programming. Responses may be aggregated and analysed anonymously for this purpose. We will not attribute any response to you individually in any published material without your prior consent.

  2. Your phone number and the WhatsApp Community

By providing your phone number and agreeing to these terms, you consent to being added to the BetterWork WhatsApp Community. This community is a space where members receive updates about upcoming events and, where they choose to join specific sub-groups, can connect and communicate with other community members.

Participation in the WhatsApp Community is entirely optional. You may opt out at any time by leaving the WhatsApp Community, or by contacting us directly at info@hsm-advisory.com. Your removal will be processed promptly.

We will not add you to any WhatsApp sub-groups without your active choice to join them.

  3. Your email address

We use your email address to inform you of BetterWork events and to send general communications about the community, including updates, announcements, and relevant content. You may unsubscribe from these communications at any time by contacting us directly at info@hsm-advisory.com.

Your consent

By submitting your information through this website, you are giving us your explicit consent to use your data as described in Section 3 above. Your consent is specific to each use (research responses, WhatsApp communications, and email communications), and you may withdraw consent for any one of these at any time without affecting the others.

For members located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, our processing of your personal data is carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

Data sharing and third parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We will not share your data with any external organisations for their own marketing purposes.

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With trusted service providers who assist us in operating the platform (for example, email delivery services or CRM providers), under strict data processing agreements that require them to protect your information and use it only as instructed by us.

  • Where we are required to do so by law or by a regulatory authority.

Your WhatsApp communications are also subject to Meta's WhatsApp Business Policy and WhatsApp's Privacy Policy, as the messaging infrastructure is provided by WhatsApp (Meta Platforms).

Data security

We take the security of your personal information seriously. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include:

  • Secure storage of personal data

  • Restricted access to your information, limited to personnel who need it to carry out their role

  • Regular review of our data handling practices

While we take every reasonable precaution, no system of data transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. If you have reason to believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately at info@hsm-advisory.com.

Data retention

We will retain your personal data only for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. If you withdraw your consent or request deletion of your data, we will remove your information from our active systems within a reasonable timeframe and confirm this to you.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@hsm-advisory.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are based in the EU or UK and are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will notify you by email and update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
